No date set yet for IMF review mission's visit

The mission is supposed to assess the implementation of requirements envisaged in the latest Stand-By Arrangement.

Ukraine's key creditor, the International Monetary Fund, has not yet scheduled a working visit of its review mission to Ukraine.

That's according to IMF spokesman Gerry Rice who spoke at a briefing via videoconference on Thursday, September 10, an UNIAN correspondent reports.

Also, Rice recalled that retaining the independence of the National Anti-corruption Bureau, the Special Anti-corruption Prosecutor's Office, and the High Anti-corruption Court is a preliminary condition spelled out in the current arrangement for Ukraine.

The comment comes amid the recent judgment issued by the Constitutional Court of Ukraine that designates the presidential decree on Artem Sytnyk's appointment NABU Director as unconstitutional.

  • The IMF Executive Board on June 9 approved an 18-month SBA for Ukraine, with access equivalent to SDR 3.6 billion (about US$5 billion, or 179% of quota).
  • TheNational Bank confirmed it had received the first disbursement worth US$2.1 billion on June 12, 2020.
  • The IMF earlier said its mission would carry out in September the first review of how Ukraine implements a new 18-month SBA.
  • Ukraine before the end of the year is supposed to have received all scheduled tranches within the new SBA, Minister of Finance Serhiy Marchenko believes.
