Ukrainian Infrastructure Minister Vladyslav Kryklii earlier expressed hope that the ministry would be able to start the construction of an airport in Zakarpattia region as early as 2022.

The national budget for 2021 adopted by the Verkhovna Rada, Ukraine's parliament, envisages funding of projects to develop airports in the cities of Dnipro, Vinnytsia, Rivne, and Kherson.

Also, the ministry's strategy provides for the annual upgrading of five or six airports, depending on the amount of funding.
