CEO of the Center for Traffic Organization municipal enterprise Viktor Cherniy has said Kyiv City State Administration plans to install about 400 new traffic light system in the Ukrainian capital city.
The relevant decree has already been issued and signed by the Kyiv mayor, he told Hromadske Radio on December 8.
"What is traffic light regulation [system]? This is a capital construction facility. It cannot emerge in a day or a week. This is a whole procedure, namely design work through the ProZorro [public e-procurement system], examination, and search for contractors via ProZorro. All this takes about a year. Today we demand that these facilities be strategic ones in order to save time," he said.
According to the official, if it is required to install a traffic light in the place with the high number of traffic accidents, such work is performed in a month and a half by the relevant police order.
