Ukraine reopening 66 checkpoints on its border with EU, Moldova

Checkpoints on the border with Belarus and Russia remain temporarily closed.

Ukraine is reopening 66 checkpoints on its border, namely those with European Union member states and Moldova.

This is stipulated in relevant amendments to a Cabinet resolution dated March 13, according to Ukraine's State Border Service.

"Sixty-six checkpoints on the Ukrainian side of the state border are resuming their work from 00:00 Kyiv time on May 29, 2020," it said.

Fifty-six checkpoints remain temporarily closed.

"The State Border Service of Ukraine has informed the neighboring countries, in particular EU member states and the Republic of Moldova, about the re-launch of the checkpoints on the Ukrainian side, as the list of the checkpoints that are to resume their work does not include those on the sections of the state border with Belarus and the Russian Federation," the agency said.

Meanwhile, the entry-exit checkpoints along the contact line in Donetsk and Luhansk regions remain closed until June 22 inclusive.
