Ukraine's National Commission for Communications and Informatization Regulation (NCCIR) has revoked its resolution to reduce the interconnection rate (the price a mobile operator pays to another operator whose network receives calls from the first operator's subscriber) from UAH 0.12 to UAH 0.08 effective from January 1, 2021.

The cancellation of the resolution was a result of the Justice Ministry's refusal to register the relevant document and the ministry's response to the NCCIR's complaint in this regard, the commission's press service said on its website following a meeting on July 7. However, the NCCIR did not specify the reason for the ministry's move.

As reported, the NCCIR will present a new draft resolution at the next meeting scheduled for July 14. The document will be drafted in line with the requirements of the Law "On the basics of state regulatory policy in the sphere of economic activity."

As UNIAN reported earlier, the NCCIR in May decided to reduce the interconnection rate from UAH 0.12 to UAH 0.08 from January 1, 2021.

In June, the commission appealed to the Justice Ministry to review the ministry's decision to deny state registration of the NCCIR's resolution.
