NBU Governor Shevchenko off to US for official working visit

Earlier, Shevchenko said there was no uncertainty in Ukraine's relations with the International Monetary Fund.

Kyrylo Shevchenko, Governor of the National Bank of Ukraine, set off for an official working visit to Washington, DC, to discuss the current state and prospects of Ukraine's cooperation with international partners.

That's according to the press service of the National Bank.

It is noted that meetings have been scheduled with the leadership of the International Monetary Fund, World Bank, and International Finance Corporation (IFC).

Background

  • On June 9, 2020, the IMF Executive Board approved an 18-month Stand-By Arrangement for Ukraine with funding equivalent to SDR 3.6 billion (about US$5 billion) aimed at helping Ukraine overcome the consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic.
  • On June 12, Ukraine received the first tranche of the IMF loan under the new 18-month SBA in the amount of $2.1 billion.
  • On October 22, NBU Governor Kyrylo Shevchenko during a briefing said there was no uncertainty in Ukraine's relations with the International Monetary Fund.
