Some 30.4% of Ukrainian IT companies expect end of COVID-19 crisis in 2020 – poll

About 30.4% of Ukrainian IT companies expect the second wave of the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic, saying that the crisis in Ukraine may end in 2020, according to a survey of 112 IT companies, conducted by the web portal for job search Robota.ua on July 7-10.

In addition, about 25% of IT companies did not feel the crisis at all, while 15.2% believe that the most difficult times are over. Less than 9% of companies surveyed believe the crisis will continue in 2021.

At the same time, 30.4% of companies significantly increased the number of vacancies, 24.1% increased the number slightly, while 22.3% of companies said the number of new vacancies has not changed against the pre-quarantine level.

Some 42.9% of surveyed companies reported that number of employees remained unchanged, while 41.1% said their staff increased.

In addition, 76.8% of IT companies said their employees' salaries did not change after the quarantine was eased.

As UNIAN reported earlier, according to the chief lawyer of the Ukrainian IT company SPD-Ukraine Mykola Kudriavtsev and the Chief Business Development Officer of the IT holding TECHIIA Oleh Humeniuk, Ukrainian IT companies observe no significant impact of the coronary crisis and quarantine on jobs.

According to a survey of more than 12,400 Ukrainian IT professionals conducted in early July by the Ukrainian specialized web portal on the IT industry DOU, about 52.6% of Ukrainian IT professionals are preparing or thinking about labor migration to other countries, while a mere 8% do not plan to leave the country.
