Each Ukrainian consumes 521 kilograms of potatoes per year.
Analysts predict an increase in the global consumption of potatoes and further growth of the world potato market.

"According to the IndexBox analytical agency, it is assumed that global consumption of [potato] tubers will grow by 1.5% annually in the next decade," the Ukrainian TSN TV news service said on July 8.
It is noted China is in the lead of potato consumption, namely 93 million tonnes per year, followed by India and Ukraine.
"Belarus, Ukraine and the Netherlands have become the countries with the highest level of potato consumption per capita. In particular, each Ukrainian consumes 521 kilograms of potatoes per year," reads the report.
As UNIAN reported earlier, potatoes significantly fell in price on Ukraine's wholesale markets due to increased potato supply of the new crop.
