Over US$21 bln to be spent on public debt payments in 2021 – finance minister

Some US$15.7 billion will be spent to pay off the public debt, while US$5.7 billion will be spent on debt servicing.

Ukrainian Finance Minister Serhiy Marchenko says the draft national budget for 2021, which was approved by the Cabinet of Ministers on September 14, 2020, provides for the allocation of UAH 599.8 billion (US$21.4 billion) for the repayment and servicing of the public debt.

In particular, UAH 439.3 billion (US$15.7 billion) will be spent to pay off the public debt, while UAH 160.5 billion (US$5.7 billion) will be spent on debt servicing, he told a briefing on Monday, as reported by an UNIAN correspondent.
