Real estate prices up in Ukraine's major cities

One-room apartments range from US$25,000 to US$55,000.

Apartments on Ukraine's secondary market have become more expensive, the latest review shows.

In particular, prices for one-room apartments range from US$25,000 to US$55,000, as evidenced by OLX.

In the city of Dnipro, US$26,600 is the average price for one-room apartments, while two-room flats cost an average of US$35,500, and three-room apartments sell for US$45,700.

In the city of Lviv, one-room apartments cost an average of US$38,700, two-room apartments have an average price of US$51,800, while three-room flats have a tag of around US$63,300.

The average prices in the port city of Odesa are as follows: US$32,700 for one-room apartments, US$46,400 for two-room apartments, and US$52,900 for three-room apartments.

In the city of Kharkiv, one-room apartments will cost on average US$25,400, two-room apartments sell for US$38,900, and three-room apartments' price is an average of US$52,900.

Real estate prices in the capital city of Kyiv

According to the OLX research, prices for apartments on the secondary market in Kyiv grew by 5% in 2020, namely to an average price of over US$54,000 for one-room apartments.

On July 22, 2020, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said he considered it quite realistic to reduce the mortgage rate to 10%.

On June 23, 2020, Shmyhal noted that the Cabinet's target was to reduce mortgage rate to 7%, or even 5%.

On June 2, 2020, the national bank announced that the launch of a mortgage at 10% per annum would be possible after quarantine restrictions are lifted.

This also requires from banks to amend their interest rate policy and from parliament – to pass a number of legislative amendments.

On August 11, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Ukrainians were already able to buy new homes with more affordable mortgage deals with loan rates of 10% per annum.
