Retail trade turnover in Jan-May up 3.1% in Ukraine

The retail trade turnover in Ukraine in January-May 2020 increased by 3.1% year-on-year, according to the State Statistics Service of Ukraine.

At the same time, in May the indicator decreased by 3.1% on year, while springing 15% against April.

According to the report, retail turnover in January-May grew the most in the following regions: Kyiv – by 11.6%, Zaporizhia – by 10.5%, and Kirovohrad – by 8.8%.

The worst turnover indicator for the reporting period was recorded in Zakarpattia region with a 12% drop.

The State Statistics Service noted that no data were available from the temporarily occupied territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, the city of Sevastopol, and the temporarily occupied territories in Donetsk and Luhansk regions.

As UNIAN reported earlier, retail sales in Ukraine in 2019 increased by 10.5%.
