Ukraine climbs to 126th spot in road quality rating

In 2020, Ukraine has strengthened by 20 positions year-on-year in the international road quality rating complied by Legatum Institute, an international analytical center.

Now the country ranks 126th among 167 other states, that's according to the press service of the State Agency for Motorways Ukravtodor.

"In 2020, Ukraine gained +20 positions in the overall rating of 'road quality.' So far, we occupy 126th place. This means that international experts and analysts positively assess the country's steps toward the development of road infrastructure," the agency wrote on Facebook.

Background

The national project "Big Construction" was launched in Ukraine in March 2020.

It involves construction and repairs on roads and other infrastructure facilities.

Ukravtodor's target for road repairs in 2021 is nearly 6,800 km, which is over 2,000 more than planned for 2020.
