The ministry has recently stepped up work on building up the country's missile shield.
Ukrainian Defense Minister Andriy Taran says the ministry is ready to increase funding for promising projects of Ukraine's missile program.
He made the comment following a working visit to the strategic enterprises of the domestic rocket and space industry, namely the state-owned Pivdenmash (Yuzhmash) and Pivdenne (Yuzhnoe) Design Bureau, the ministry's press service said on its website on January 22.
In particular, a meeting was held to discuss the implementation of the state defense order for 2021.
According to Taran, the ministry has recently "stepped up work on building up the country's missile shield."
The minister says there is an interest in promising developments in the field of rocket and missile systems for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
"To this end, the Defense Ministry is ready to expand funding for the Ukrainian missile program," he stressed.
In turn, acting General Director of Pivdenne Design Bureau Oleksandr Kushnarev, briefed Deputy Prime Minister, Minister for Strategic Industries of Ukraine Oleh Urusky and the defense minister with the progress of current defense and space projects. Particular attention was paid to military development, satellites, and international space projects.
