The move is made to prevent duplication of functions by other ministries.
Envoy of the Cabinet of Ministers to the Verkhovna Rada, Vasyl Mokan, says the Cabinet has approved the range of tasks of the newly established Ministry for Strategic Industries of Ukraine, excluding them from the list of those set before other government agencies.
The Cabinet passed the relevant decision at an extraordinary government meeting on September 7, the representative wrote on Facebook on Monday.
"The Ministry for Strategic Industries is designated as the main body in the system of central executive agencies, which forms and implements the country's industrial policy, military-industrial policy, policy in the field of defense orders, defense industry, aircraft manufacturing, and space activities," he said.
Ministry's main tasks
Among the main tasks is to form and implement state policy in said industrial sectors, as well as in the areas of military-technical cooperation, and foreign economic activities related to the promotion of goods of Ukraine's strategic industries.
