Deficit of Ukraine's foreign trade in goods, services halves in Q1 – NBU

The deficit of foreign trade in commodities over the period under review shrank by 25%.

The deficit of Ukraine's foreign trade in goods and services in January-March 2020 (Q1) was estimated at US$898 million, which was 50% down year-over-year.

The deficit of foreign trade in commodities over the period under review shrank by 25% from US$2.277 billion, to US$1.754 billion, while the surplus of foreign trade in services almost doubled from US$442 million, to US$856 million, according to the website of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU).

UNIAN memo. The deficit of Ukraine's foreign trade in goods and services in 2019 totaled US$3.633 billion, which was 41.2% down from the deficit reported in 2018, according to the State Statistics Service.

At the same time, the National Bank said the deficit of Ukraine's foreign trade in goods and services in 2019 was estimated at US$12.117 billion, which was 7% up year-on-year.
