Turkey reopening borders to Ukrainians: MFA Ukraine elaborates on date

Turkey will open borders for foreign tourists, including from Ukraine, on July 1, the press service of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry has told an UNIAN correspondent.

Minister for Foreign Affairs Dmytro Kuleba spoke over the phone with his Turkish counterpart Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, the press service reports.

"The Turkish foreign minister has informed about the decision of the Turkish side to reopen its borders to foreign tourists and resume regular passenger traffic with Ukraine from July 1 of this year. He also assured that his country would create all the necessary conditions for a safe summer vacation for Ukrainian citizens," the report reads.

Also, Kuleba and Çavuşoğlu identified priorities for the development of strategic partnership between Ukraine and Turkey in the near future, as well as key high-level bilateral events set to be held once the epidemiological situation stabilizes.

The top diplomats agreed that the next meeting of the Joint Strategic Planning Group at the level of the foreign ministers of Ukraine and Turkey would be held in Antalya.
