Turkey's AnadoluJet to launch first flights to Ukraine

AnadoluJet, a low-cost air carrier and a brand of Turkish Airlines, will launch its first flights to Ukraine on March 30, 2021.

That is according to the travel news portal avianews.com, referring to the company's representative office in Ukraine on March 3.

Read alsoGreece's Lumiwings to launch two flights between Italy and UkraineThese will be night flights between Ankara and Kyiv, which will be performed four times a week – on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, it said.

A flight will last for two hours: departure from Ankara at 00:30 a.m. and arrival in Kyiv at 02:30 a.m., and departure from Kyiv at 03:25 a.m. and arrival in Ankara at 05:25 a.m.

AnadoluJet has not yet launched ticket sales, but it promised to upload tariffs into its booking systems in the near future.

Like Turkish Airlines, AnadoluJet will be served at Kyiv's Boryspil International Airport.

The air carrier will compete on the Ankara-Kyiv route with another Turkish low-cost airline, Pegasus Airlines, which operates on a similar schedule.

AnadoluJet offers a simplified service compared to the parent company and has no business class. The company will operate a Boeing 737-800 on the said route, with a maximum load of 189 seats. Europe's largest budget air carrier, Ryanair, uses the same seating arrangement.

Turkey entry rules for Ukrainian tourists

• As of today, Ukrainian tourists may travel to Turkey without a visa if they have negative results of a COVID-19 test done no earlier than 72 hours before departure, and an insurance policy covering COVID-19 treatment costs.
• In early March, the Turkish authorities extended the period when COVID-19 test results are to be presented by arriving travelers. This requirement is in effect at least until May 26, 2021.
• On March 2, restaurants in Turkey re-opened after a long lockdown.
