Ukraine invites U.S. companies planning to transfer production from other regions

The U.S. secretary of state assured the Ukrainian foreign minister of unwavering support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine.

Ukraine is ready to create favorable conditions for U.S. enterprises that are now considering the possibility of moving their production facilities from other regions to optimize supply chains, Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba told U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo during a phone call on Wednesday, May 6.

"We are determined to further develop strategic partnership between Ukraine and the USA. Not for the sake of diplomatic formalities, but for the sake of strengthening the true friendship of the Ukrainian and American nations," the foreign minister noted, according to the MFA Ukraine press service.

Also, Kuleba underlined the development of mutually beneficial economic cooperation between Ukraine and the United States, noting that in the context of the ongoing pandemic and its consequences, Ukraine is turning into a guarantor of global food security.

Ukraine's top diplomat has invited his American counterpart to discuss promising cooperation projects at the next meeting of the Ukraine-U.S. Strategic Partnership Commission, which he offered to hold this year.

In turn, Pompeo assured Ukraine of unwavering support on the part of the United States for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine.

The interlocutors also discussed the reform process in Ukraine, as well as projects and programs supported by the U.S. government.
