The countries are working on two draft agreements: on merchant shipping and on recognition of seafarers' diplomas/certificates.
Ukraine is interested in developing cooperation with the Republic of South Africa and further deepening cooperation in the field of transport, as well as in joint implementation of projects and development of cooperation in the infrastructure sector.
That's according to Infrastructure Minister Vladyslav Kryklii who held a working meeting with the Ambassador of South Africa to Ukraine, Andre Groenewald, in Kyiv October 5, the ministry reports.
Kryklii also stressed the importance of continuing the joint work of both countries on the draft intergovernmental agreement on air services. The final text of the agreement has already been agreed, and now the State Aviation Service of Ukraine is translating it for further study.

In addition, Kryklii shared the achievements of Ukraine in the implementation of large-scale concession projects, including the conclusion of the first concession deals with the Olvia and Kherson seaports with a total investment volume of nearly $134 million. The minister told the South African side about promising projects set to be implemented in 2021.
