The amount was almost 24% up year-over-year.
Operating banks in Ukraine in January-March 2020 (Q1) posted UAH 15.974 billion, or US$592 million, in profit, which was 23.8% more than in the same period of the previous year.
The banks' revenue for this period increased by 12.6%, to UAH 65.343 billion (US$2.4 billion), expenses grew by 9.4%, to UAH 49.369 billion (US$1.8 billion), the National Bank of Ukraine said on its website.

As UNIAN reported earlier, operating banks in Ukraine at the end of 2019 reported positive financial results estimated at UAH 59.6 billion, or US$2.2 billion. Their profit almost tripled compared to 2018.
Last year, the highest profit was reported by PrivatBank (UAH 32.6 billion, or US$1.2 billion), Raiffeisen Bank Aval (UAH 4.7 billion, or US$174.2 million), FUIB and UkrSibbank (UAH 2.6 billion, or US$96.4 million, each), and OTP Bank (UAH 2.5 billion, or US$92.7 million).
