Ukraine's Cabinet appoints new tax chief

On April 27, the Cabinet of Ministers announced a competition for the post of head of the State Fiscal Service.

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has appointed Oleksiy Lyubchenko as the new head of the State Fiscal Service of Ukraine.

"Oleksiy Mykolaiovych Lyubchenko is the new head of the tax service," MP Oleksiy Honcharenko, who attended today's government meeting, wrote on Telegram.

As UNIAN reported earlier, at an extraordinary meeting on Friday, April 24, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine dismissed Head of the State Customs Service Maksym Nefyodov and Head of the State Fiscal Service Serhiy Verlanov.

The work of two agencies had been criticized recently due to the failure to meet the revenue targets of the state budget.

On April 27, the Cabinet of Ministers announced a competition for the post of head of the State Fiscal Service. Only 24 hours was provided for candidates to file applications.

UNIAN memo. Oleksiy Lyubchenko worked as First Deputy Head of the Tax Administration in Kirovohrad region in 1999-2003, and from 2003 to 2005 he headed the Tax Administration in Cherkasy region. After that, he was appointed Deputy Chairman of Kirovohrad Regional State Administration.

In 2009-2011, Lyubchenko served as Deputy Chairman of the State Tax Administration. In 2012-2014, he was an assistant to MP Viktor Tymoshenko. In 2015, Lyubchenko applied for the post of chairman of the State Fiscal Service.
