PM Shmyhal: Government working on measures to facilitate Ukraine's economic recovery

Ukraine's Cabinet of Ministers is working on measures that will help facilitate the country's economic recovery.

This was reported by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal on Facebook.

"The government is already developing a set of measures that will accelerate the economic recovery," Shmyhal said.

"In particular, these are business support programs, privatization of state-owned enterprises, consumer demand incentives. Starting next week, we begin to actively work on a practical plan of measures proposed by a group of experts," he wrote.

Recent developments

• Ukraine's Ministry of Economic Development, Trade and Agriculture estimated a decline in the country's GDP in the first half of 2020 at 6.5%, including 11% in the second quarter alone.
• The draft budget for 2021 foresees a deficit set at 6% of GDP.
• The macroeconomic forecast assumes that Ukraine's GDP in 2021 will grow by 4.6% after a 4.8% decline projected this year.
