Ukraine's hryvnia strengthens to UAH 26.91 to U.S. dollar on May 29

The official forex rate against the euro for Friday is fixed at UAH 29.62 per euro.

The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) on May 28 set the official forex rate of the hryvnia for Friday, May 29, at UAH 26.91 to the U.S. dollar, which let the country's national currency strengthen by nine kopiykas after a three-day fall.

The official forex rate against the euro for Friday is fixed at UAH 29.62 per euro – the hryvnia gained 10 kopiykas in value since Thursday, according to the NBU website.

By 16:00 Kyiv time on May 28, hryvnia quotations against the dollar on the interbank forex market settled at UAH 26.89/26.91 to the dollar, while those against the euro were at UAH 29.64/29.66.

As UNIAN reported earlier, the National Bank set the official forex rate for Thursday, May 28, at UAH 27.00 to the U.S. dollar, which made the country's national currency weaken by 10 kopiykas. Thus, the hryvnia had been weakening for the third consecutive day.
