Ukraine's public debt in June up 3.5% in dollar terms

It now amounts to US$ 85 billion.

Ukraine's public and government-guaranteed debt in June 2020 has increased by 2.7% in national currency to UAH 2.269 trillion, also up in dollar terms by 3.5%, the finance ministry reports.

It now amounts to US$ 85.01 billion, the report reads.

"In June 2020, the amount of public and government-guaranteed debt of Ukraine increased in hryvnia equivalent by UAH 59.71 billion, and in dollar terms – by $2.89 billion," the statement said.

It is noted that as of June 30, public and government-guaranteed external debt stood at UAH 1.364 trillion (60.13% of the total amount), or $ 51.12 billion, while public and government-guaranteed domestic debt amounted to UAH 904.79 billion (39.87%), or $33.9 billion.

As UNIAN reported earlier, the volume of Ukraine's public and government-guaranteed debt for 2019 increased in dollar terms by $6.05 billion, or by 7.7%, to $84.36 billion.

In hryvnia equivalent, it was down by UAH 170.17 billion, or by 7.8%, to UAH 1.998 trillion.

At year-start, the public and government-guaranteed debt to GDP ratio stood at 50%.
