The central bank did not sell foreign currency over the said period, whereas it replenished the country's international reserves having bought US$161.5 million, according to the regulator's website.
However, since the beginning of the year, sales of foreign currency has exceeded the purchases by US$363.2 million.
As UNIAN reported earlier, the National Bank set the official forex rate Monday, May 18, at UAH 26.64 to the U.S. dollar, which let the country's national currency strengthen by four kopiykas. Thus, the hryvnia had seen gains against the U.S. dollar for the fourth consecutive day.
