Ukraine's State Statistics Service says a mere 6.5% of Ukrainians earn US$1,000 and more per month.
"Over 6.5% of working Ukrainians get more than UAH 25,000 (US$915 at the current forex rate as of August 20)," it said, the TV news service TSN reported.

Most often, it said, one in five earns from UAH 5,000 (US$183) to UAH 6,000 (US$220).
"According to the Pension Fund, the average salary in Ukraine in June was UAH 11,000 (US$403)," it said.
As UNIAN reported earlier, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky proposed holding a special parliament meeting on August 25 to vote on a bill to increase the minimum wage.
