Ukraine's Statistics Service lists sectors with highest unreported employment

The number of Ukrainians involved in unreported employment in the first three months of 2020 exceeded 3.4 million people.

A significant share of Ukrainians aged 15 and older (42.1%) who were involved in unreported employment worked in agriculture, the forestry and fishery sectors in the first quarter (Q1) of 2020.

About 17% of them worked in the construction sector, another 17% were engaged in wholesale and retail trade, the repair and maintenance of motor vehicles and motorcycles, and 6.1% worked for the industry, according to the State Statistics Service.

The number of Ukrainians involved in unreported employment in the first three months of 2020 exceeded 3.4 million people.

The report does not include information from temporarily occupied areas in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, the city of Sevastopol, and certain areas in Donetsk and Luhansk regions, it said.

As UNIAN reported earlier, the unemployment rate in Ukraine in January-March 2020 fell by 0.1 p.p., to 8.6%, or 1.5 million citizens, from 8.7% in Q4 2019.
