Ukraine's banking sector saw an increase in revenue and spending over the period under review.
Ukrainian banks' net profit grew by 23.6% in January-May 2020 year-on-year (y-o-y), to UAH 28.964 billion (US$1.billion).
In May 2020 alone, the banks posted UAH 3.756 billion (US$141 million) in net profit, which was 29.3% down from 5.313 billion (US$199 million) y-o-y, the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) said on its website on June 23.

Revenue of Ukrainian banks in January-May 2020 increased by 10.8% y-o-y, to UAH 109.5 billion (US$4.1 billion). Their spending in the five months of 2020 totaled UAH 80.6 billion (US$3 billion), which was 6.8% up y-o-y.
As UNIAN reported, the banking sector's profit in the first quarter of 2020 grew by 23.8% y-o-y, to UAH 16 billion (US$600 million), the NBU said.
