Ukraine's banking sector saw an increase in revenue and spending over the period under review.
Ukrainian banks' net profit grew by 39.2% in the first four months of 2020 year-on-year (y-o-y).
It amounted to UAH 25.2 billion (US$937 million), the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) said on its website.
In April 2020 alone, the banks posted UAH 9.234 billion (US$343 million) in net profit, which was 77% more than in April last year when their net profit was UAH 5.213 billion (US$194 million).

The Ukrainian banks' revenue in January-April 2020 increased by 16.8% y-o-y, to UAH 90 billion (US$3.35 billion). Their spending in the four months of 2020 totaled UAH 64.8 billion (US$2.4 billion), which was 9.9% up on y-o-y.
As UNIAN reported, the banking sector's profit in the first quarter of 2020 increased by 23.8% compared to the corresponding quarter of last year, to UAH 16 billion (US$595 million), the NBU said.
