PM Shmyhal: Only six sectors of Ukraine's economy operating with restrictions amid quarantine

Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal says only six sectors of Ukraine's economy are now operating with restrictions due to the quarantine set by the government over the spread of the novel COVID-19 coronavirus across the country.

"We didn't brake Ukrainian economy, and our major export-oriented industries continue operating at full capacity. Today, only six industries are operating with restrictions. These are transport, [household] final consumption, bars, restaurants, mass gatherings, and cultural events. The real sectors of the economy – from agriculture to industry, as well as critical infrastructure are working today, performing their tasks," he said at a government meeting on April 22.

As UNIAN reported earlier, the Cabinet of Ministers on March 11 introduced a nationwide quarantine, which was extended until April 24, and later until May 11.
