Ukraine's hryvnia strengthens for fourth day in a row

The official hryvnia gained four kopiykas in value.

The hryvnia, Ukraine's national currency, has strengthened for the fourth day in a row as the country's national bank set the official forex rate for Monday, May 18, at UAH 26.64 per U.S. dollar.

The official forex rate of the hryvnia against the euro was fixed for Monday at UAH 28.77 per euro, that is, the hryvnia got stronger by two kopiykas against the euro compared to the previous day, the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) said.

Quotations of the hryvnia on the Ukrainian interbank forex market were set at UAH 26.61/26.63 per U.S. dollar and UAH 28.81/28.84 per euro at the close of trading.

The hryvnia in Kyiv's currency exchange booths on the morning of Friday, May 15, weakened by five kopiykas, to UAH 26.95 per dollar and strengthened by three kopiykas, to UAH 29.10 per euro.

As UNIAN reported earlier, the official forex rate of the hryvnia against the U.S. dollar was set on Friday, May 15, at UAH 26.68 per U.S. dollar, as the hryvnia strengthened against the dollar for the third day in a row – by one kopiyka on that day.
