Ukraine's hryvnia strengthens to UAH 26.52 to U.S. dollar on May 20

The official forex rate against the euro for Wednesday is fixed at UAH 29.02 per euro.

The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) has set the official forex rate for May 20 at UAH 26.52 to the U.S. dollar, which let the country's national currency strengthen by five kopiykas.

The central bank has fixed the following official forex rates of the hryvnia against key foreign currencies for May 20:

US$100 will be quoted at UAH 2,651.59 (UAH 2,657.10 as of May 19);

EUR 100 will be quoted at UAH 2,902.17 (UAH 2,879.10 as of May 19).

By 16:00 Kyiv time on May 19, hryvnia quotations against the dollar on the interbank forex market settled at UAH 26.55/26.58 to the dollar, while those against the euro were at UAH 29.07/29.10.

The U.S. dollar at Kyiv's exchange booths in the first half of May 19 lost five kopiykas in value, as the rate was UAH 26.75 per U.S. dollar, while the forex rate of Ukraine's hryvnia against the euro remained at UAH 29.00 per euro.

As UNIAN reported earlier, the National Bank set the official forex rate for Tuesday, May 19, at UAH 26.57 to the U.S. dollar, which let the country's national currency strengthen by seven kopiykas. Thus, the hryvnia saw gains against the U.S. dollar for the fifth consecutive day.
