Ukraine's hryvnia strengthens to UAH 26.64 to U.S. dollar on May 18

The official forex rate against the euro for Monday is fixed at UAH 28.77 per euro.

The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) has set the official forex rate for May 18 at UAH 26.64 to the U.S. dollar, which let the country's national currency strengthen by four kopiykas.

The central bank has fixed the following official forex rates of the hryvnia against key foreign currencies for May 18:

US$100 will be quoted at UAH 2,663.80 (UAH 2,667.92 as of May 15);

EUR 100 will be quoted at UAH 2,876.77 (UAH 2,878.69 as of May 15).

By 16:00 Kyiv time on May 15, hryvnia quotations against the dollar on the interbank forex market settled at UAH 26.61/26.63 to the dollar, while those against the euro were at UAH 28.81/28.84.

The U.S. dollar at Kyiv's exchange booths on Friday, May 15, gained five kopiykas in value, as the rate was UAH 26.95 per U.S. dollar. The value of the euro decreased by three kopiykas, and the rate was UAH 29.10 per euro.

As UNIAN reported earlier, the National Bank set the official forex rate Friday, May 15, at UAH 26.68 to the U.S. dollar, which let the country's national currency strengthen by one kopiyka. Thus, the hryvnia saw gains against the U.S. dollar for the third consecutive day.
