Ukraine's hryvnia weakens to UAH 26.59 to U.S. dollar on May 21

The official forex rate against the euro for Thursday is fixed at UAH 28.14 per euro.

The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) on May 20 set the official forex rate of the hryvnia for Thursday, May 21, at UAH 26.59 to the U.S. dollar, which made the country's national currency weaken by seven kopiykas.

Thus, the hryvnia saw its value decrease against the U.S. dollar for the first time this week.

The official forex rate against the euro for Thursday is fixed at UAH 28.14 per euro – the hryvnia has lost 12 kopiykas in value since Wednesday.

By 16:00 Kyiv time on May 20, hryvnia quotations against the dollar on the interbank forex market settled at UAH 26.66/26.68 to the dollar, while those against the euro were at UAH 29.23/29.25.

As UNIAN reported earlier, the National Bank set the official forex rate for Wednesday, May 20, at UAH 26.52 to the U.S. dollar, which let the country's national currency strengthen by five kopiykas. Thus, the hryvnia saw gains against the U.S. dollar for the sixth consecutive day.
