Decline in industrial production in Ukraine slows to 5.6% in June

Industrial production in May fell by 12.2%.

Ukraine saw a decline in industrial production by 5.6% in June 2020 year-over-year (y-o-y) without calendar adjustment after a 12.2% decrease in May 2020.

WIth calendar adjustment, industrial production in June 2020 fell by 7.1% y-o-y, the State Statistics Service of Ukraine said on its website.

However, industrial production in June 2020 compared to May 2020 grew by 4.1% without calendar adjustment and by 3.4% with calendar adjustment.

The mining industry alone saw a 4.9% drop in June 2020 vs June 2019, while output in the processing industry decreased by 6.2%. The supply of electricity, natural gas, steam and air conditioning services fell by 4%.

Split by major industrial groups, goods for intermediate demand showed a 4% decline in production, while production of capital goods fell by 26.1% and that of fast-moving consumer goods slid by 1.1%, energy generation fell by 3.5%. However, durable goods saw a 5% increase in output.

As UNIAN reported earlier, a decline in industrial production in Ukraine in May 2020 y-o-y (against May 2019) slowed to 12.2% without calendar adjustment after a 16.2% decrease reported in April 2020.
