Sales of new passenger cars in Ukraine 19% down in Jan

Toyota was the most popular brand in the first month of 2021.

Sales of new passenger cars in Ukraine dropped by 19% in January 2021 year-over-year (y-o-y), to 5,700 vehicles.

That is according to a statement by the Ukrautoprom Association's press service published on its website on February 1.

Renault ranked second with 730 new cars sold over the period under review, which was almost 31% down y-o-y.

The Skoda brand was third, having boosted its sales in Ukraine by 4% y-o-y, to 486 cars.

The KIA brand ranked fourth with 329 cars registered, which was 24% down against the figure posted in January 2020.

Nissan ranked fifth with 306 cars sold and registered in January 2021 (42% down y-o-y).

The top 10 also included the following brands: Suzuki (282 new cars sold, 38% up), Hyundai (277 new cars sold, 24% down), Mazda (244 new cars sold, 24% up), Peugeot (182 new cars sold, 31% down), and Ford (167 new cars sold, 6% down).

The Toyota RAV4 car became the month's bestseller with 430 cars that had been assigned Ukrainian license plates.
