Antiseptics are now available in almost every store and pharmacy.
Ukraine's state-run distillery enterprise Ukrspyrt has announced it has supplied 2.6 million liters of disinfectants to Ukrainian manufacturers for the production of antiseptics; therefore, the country has overcome an acute shortage of antiseptic products amid the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic.

"Ukrainian manufacturers have already purchased 2.6 million liters of disinfectants from the state-owned enterprise Ukrspyrt. The results are obvious, as antiseptics are available in almost every store and pharmacy. Therefore, the acute deficit has been overcome. But we do not halt the production. We continue receiving orders from Ukrainian manufacturers, as the coronavirus has not yet been defeated in the country, unfortunately," acting Director of Ukrspyrt Serhiy Bleskun said, as reported by the company's press service on April 21.
Prices of raw materials remain stable, they are exempt from excise tax. In particular, prices of disinfectants are UAH 35.37 (US$1.29) per liter of that containing 80% alcohol and UAH 42.45 (US$1.57) per liter of that containing 90% alcohol.
Ukrspyrt also provides daily information about its supplies and customers on its website, the press service added.
As UNIAN reported earlier, Ukrspyrt launched four more facilities to meet increased demand for ethyl alcohol amid the spread of the novel COVID-19 coronavirus in the country. The enterprise also announced its readiness to provide medical facilities in Ukraine with ethyl alcohol.
UNIAN memo. State-owned Ukrspyrt, which was set up on the basis of a consortium with the same name in 2010, holds a monopoly on alcohol production in Ukraine.
The government has already launched its privatization, which is expected to be over by July 1, 2021. As many as 41 distillation facilities belonging to the enterprise are to be put up for sale.
