Wage arrears in Ukraine slightly increase in June to $113.6 mln

Arrears at economically active enterprises decreased by 0.8%, down to UAH 1.94 billion.

Wage arrears to employees across Ukraine in June 2020 slightly increased (by 0.1%) against May, amounting to UAH 3.146 billion ($113.6 million) as of July 1, the State Statistics Service reported.

Arrears at economically active enterprises as of July 1 stood at UAH 1.942 billion ($70.1 million), which is 0.8% below the June 1 figure.

The State Statistics Service notes that the data covers the entire territory of Ukraine but the temporarily occupied territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol, as well as part of the temporarily occupied areas in Donetsk and Luhansk regions.

As UNIAN reported earlier, the minimum wage in Ukraine from January 1, 2020, increased by UAH 550, to UAH 4,723 ($170.52) per month, or UAH 28.31 ($1.02) per hour.

Wage arrears in Ukraine as of January 1, 2020, amounted to UAH 3.034 billion ($109.5 million), which is 14.7%, or UAH 389.3 million ($14.06 million), more than on January 1, 2019.
