Wage debts in Ukraine total US$111 mln

The delayed wages increased by 1.1% from March 2020.

Ukrainian companies' wage debts in April 2020 grew by 1.1% from March 2020, to UAH 2.997 billion, or US$111 million, as of May 1, 2020.

In particular, debts to employees of active enterprises as of May 1, 2020, amounted to UAH 1.822 billion (US$67.5 million), which was 0.3% up on April 1, 2020, the country's State Statistics Service said.

The report does not include data from the Russia-occupied Autonomous Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol, as well as parts of Donetsk and Luhansk regions.

As UNIAN reported earlier, the minimum wage in Ukraine from January 1, 2020, increased by UAH 550 (US$20.4), to UAH 4,723 (US$175) per month, or UAH 28.31 (US$1.05) per hour.

Wage debts in Ukraine as of January 1, 2020, amounted to UAH 3.034 billion (US$112.4 million), which was 14.7%, or UAH 389.3 million (US$14.4 million), up on January 1, 2019.
