One of Ukraine's major buyers, Turkey, has opted for China supplies.
Leader of the Ukrainian Nut Association says Ukraine is no longer tops the ranking of walnut exports to the European Union countries.
"Today, there is great competition among countries on the global market. This has created a serious stur in walnut kernel exports. So now, in contrast to the Ukrainian products, Europe prefers walnuts from the U.S., Chile, and Argentina. One of our main buyers, Turkey, is buying walnuts from China at the moment," the Ukrainian TSN TV news service on October 26.
The Association says it is necessary to focus on quality of Ukrainian walnuts to make a difference.
