In the early hours of Tuesday, April 26, a major blast rocked the Podil district of Kyiv as several private garages were leveled with the explosion, according to the press office of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.
When fire and rescue units arrived at the emergency call, several garages were on fire. A few minutes later there was an explosion that destroyed five garages. Currently, the fire has been extinguished.
"During the emergency response action, a body was found under the collapsed structures. In addition, the vehicles that were inside were damaged," reads the statement.
