Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko has said the number of confirmed coronavirus (COVID-19) cases in the city rose by 285 in the past day.
"In the past day, another 285 residents of Kyiv tested positive for coronavirus, including 17 healthcare workers. There were 11 fatalities," Klitschko reported via Telegram on September 15. "As of today, the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the city is 17,714."
According to the city mayor, 171 women aged 19 to 90 and 106 men aged 22 to 83 are among those infected.
Four girls (from six to 17 years old) and four boys (from one to 15 years old) have tested positive.
Klitschko said 56 new patients had been hospitalized, while the rest are self-isolating, undergoing treatment at home under medical supervision.
Fifty-nine people recovered from the disease in the past day, he said.

The highest number of the new cases in Kyiv was registered in Dniprovsky district (70), Desniansky district (39), and Obolonsky district (37).
The total death toll in the city is 283 cases.
