The total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases has reached 11,814.
Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko said 307 new active COVID-19 cases had been confirmed in the city in the past 24 hours as of August 23, 2020, the highest daily rise ever reported.
"In the past day, another 307 residents of Kyiv tested positive for coronavirus, including eight healthcare workers," Klitschko wrote on Telegram on August 23. "As of today, the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the city is 11,814."
According to Klitschko, 152 women aged 18 to 90, and 137 men aged 19 to 88 among those infected.

Klitschko said 56 new patients had been hospitalized, while the rest were self-isolating, undergoing treatment at home under medical supervision.
Eighty-four people recovered from the disease in the past day, he said.
In total, 3,766 Kyiv residents have already recovered.
The highest number of the new cases in Kyiv was registered in Desniansky district (53); Shevchenkivsky, Solomyansky, and Dniprovsky districts (34 each); and Pechersky district (32).
