The total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the city is 26,463.
Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko said 567 new active COVID-19 cases had been confirmed in the city in the past 24 hours as of October 9, 2020, the highest daily rise ever reported.
"In the past day, another 567 residents of Kyiv tested positive for the coronavirus, including 29 healthcare workers. There were 10 fatalities," Klitschko said on Telegram on October 9.
"As of today, the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the city is 26,463."
According to the city mayor, 330 women aged 18 to 95 and 202 men aged 19 to 83 are among those infected.

Klitschko said 78 new patients had been hospitalized, while the rest were self-isolating, undergoing treatment at home under medical supervision.
He added that 295 people had recovered in the past day.
In total, 9,411 Kyiv residents have already beaten the disease.
The highest number of the new cases in Kyiv was registered in Desniansky district (115), Obolonsly district (83), and Dniprovsky district (69).
The total death toll in the city is 463 cases.
