A number of Crimean Tatars have been fired from their jobs in the occupied Crimea as a result of their refusal to cast their ballots in the presidential election held illegally on the annexed Ukrainian peninsula of Crimea.
"Yesterday one person told me how a few of his Crimean Tatar friends had been fired from their jobs for not going to the 'elections'!" Crimean lawyer Emil Kurbedinov wrote on Facebook.
According to the lawyer, one of those laid off worked as a shuttle bus driver while the other man was as a security guard. Kurbedinov did not name the job of the third person he knew had been fired.
