Deputy Prime Minister Volodymyr Hroisman has agreed to become the speaker of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, according to Ukrainian television’s Espreso.TV, with reference to its own sources.
As reported earlier, Hroisman, a member of the Bloc of Petro Poroshenko, said that his political force was planning to put forward his candidacy for the chairmanship of the Verkhovna Rada of the eighth convocation.
It was also earlier reported that Hroisman and Yatseniuk were the main candidates for the post of prime minister.
Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk last week gave the future coalition a list of candidates for ministerial posts in the future government. Hroisman was offered the post of deputy prime minister.
