There have been 55 attacks on Ukrainian army positions by Russian-backed militants using guns, tanks, mortars and rockets in the last day, the press center of Ukraine’s Anti-Terrorist Operation headquarters reported on Friday on its Facebook page.
"The artillery of Ukrainian forces returned fire on the positions of the insurgents 31 times in response to their attacks," the press center said.
"Insurgent activity is still seen in the directions of Luhansk, Donetsk, Mariupol and Debaltseve," the report reads.
According to the press center, artillery attacks on the positions of Ukrainian troops were launched near the following villages: Stanychno-Luhanske, Sokolnyky, Stariy Aidar, Olkhove, Shchastia, Makarove, Nyzhnie, Slavne, Tonenke, Novokalynove, Krasnohorivka, Avdiivka, Pisky, Hranitne, Debaltseve, Vuhlehirsk, Orlovo-Ivanivka, Kamyshevakha, Nikishyne, Petrivka Ridkodub, Novolaspa, Bohdanivka, Olhinka, Novotroitske, Trudovske, and Krymske.
The village of Chermalyk near Mariupol has been attacked twice in last 24 hours.
According to the previous information, three civilians were killed, and another three were injured in the recent attacks by militants.
