Media: G-7 may provide Ukraine with $4 billion in financial aid

The members of the G7 group of countries have discussed the possibility of providing $4 billion in financial assistance to Ukraine, U.S. daily business newspaper the Wall Street Journal reported on Monday, referring to several officials privy to the talks.

"The discussion on this issue began after Kyiv’s financial situation worsened," the report reads.

As Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk reported in early December, in 2014 Ukraine received $9 billion in external financial assistance within the framework of the resumption of cooperation with international financial institutions, while it made debt payments of $14 billion.
