NBU strengthens hryvnia official rate to UAH 23 to dollar

Ukraine’s sickly hryvnia currency gained a little more strength on Thursday, reaching UAH 23 to the dollar, while the National Bank of Ukraine said it was taking all administrative measures in order to stabilize the national currency.

As of 1430 the central bank set the following official exchange rates of the hryvnia against leading foreign currencies:

$100 – UAH 2,309.0564 (as of 1400 on March 4 it was UAH 2,377.1263);

EUR 100 – UAH 2,568.5943 (as of 1400 on March 4 it was UAH 2,654.7747);

10 Russian rubles – UAH 3.7318 (as of 1400 on March 4 it was UAH 3.8116).

As UNIAN reported earlier, the hryvnia continued to strengthen on the interbank currency market. Hryvnia quotations against the dollar on the interbank currency market on Thursday rose to UAH 22.90/23.20 to the dollar.

The hryvnia is still the worst performing currency in the work, having lost around 70% of its value in the last year.
