Talks between the Ministries of Defense of Poland and Ukraine on supplies of weapons to Ukraine are still continuing, but no firm decisions have been made yet, the head of the National Security Bureau of Poland Stanisław Koziej said in an interview with Reuters on Thursday, according to Ukrainian newspaper Yevropeiska Pravda.
"Such negotiations are underway. The Ministry of National Defense is often visited by the representatives of Ukrainian ministries and experts," Koziej said.
"Poland is considering the sale of weapons to Ukraine, as well as in some cases their provision for free," Koziej said.
"As of today, we’re having intensive talks at different levels, but decisions will be made only after the issue is studied in detail by both parties," he said.
"We fully agree with the opinion that the stronger the Ukrainian army, the higher the chances of a de-escalation of the conflict," Koziej said.
The Polish government earlier said that it had no plans to supply weapons to Ukraine as yet.
